PARK LOCATION: Lynmouth Holiday Retreat, Manor Farm, Lynton, Devon EX35 6LD


TYPE: Fixed term ending October 31, with the expectation such fixed term be extended or renewed for strongly-performing employees


HOURS: Approx. 40 hours per week, which may include 6 consecutive days work in any given week, as well as weekends, bank holidays and evenings on call


LIVE-IN ROLE: Yes, staff accommodation provided

Coast & Country Parks is seeking an enthusiastic couple to live at Lynmouth Holiday Retreat ("LHR") and help manage the park for the remainder of the 2021 season. We pride ourselves on providing 5-star service and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, and we seek to receive commensurate feedback and a high proportion of returning guests.


Our ideal applicant couple would enjoy working outdoors and be proactive and embracing of the ‘all hands on deck attitude key to the success of our small and experienced LHR team.


Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:


1. Acting as a friendly, personable and knowledgeable Assistant Park Host, and coordinating our front office and reception


- Greeting customers at the park reception


- Coordinating any check-in or other appointments, showing holiday guests to their accommodation or pitch and recording their arrival and details using our online booking system, GemaPark


- Dealing with in-person and telephone/email enquiries, as well as coordinating customer correspondence via Pitchup and Airbnb online agency platforms


- Serving customers in our on-site camping and provisions shop


- Helping to enforce general park rules for the benefit of all holiday guests


- During out-of-hours periods when nominated to be on call:


-> Receiving late guest arrivals and handling their check-in


-> Responding to all urgent park matters and coordinating the resolution of any problems that arise


-> Ensuring the safety of the park and its guests, and resolving any noise complaints


- Any other additional front office or other duties involved in the improvement of our parks guest experience


2. General housekeeping duties


- Daily cleaning of shared park facilities and toilet amenity blocks, as well as at times supervising our contractors, ensuring that our high cleanliness standards are maintained


- Cleaning and turning around of the parks holiday lodge, caravan and glamping units for let (at peak times daily turnarounds may be required)


- Laundering bed linens and other household items for holiday letting units


- Improving and refining the parks housekeeping-related procedural and operational set-up, suggesting efficiency measures where appropriate


3. General park maintenance and groundskeeping duties


- Assisting with the maintenance and monitoring of our holiday letting fleet


- Emptying bins and conducting a general tidy-up of the park, including the clearing of litter and sweeping paths and roads


- In an organised and logical manner, storing and maintaining the parks maintenance tools and equipment


- Gardening, grass cutting, strimming, hedge cutting and weeding


- Maintenance and repairs of our reception, workshop, amenities building and other general areas (e.g., re-painting water points, repairing fences, etc.)


4. Any other general tasks involved in the day to day running of LHR and working alongside the parks existing staff


- Assisting in the preparation and distribution of park newsletters, invoices and updates to holiday park customers


- Assisting with the management of staff rotas


- Coordinating the collection of utilities charges and meter readings, and assisting our accounts team with the recharge of related costs to holiday park customers


- Maintaining general reception office supplies


- Facilitating holiday lodge and caravan sales appointments and viewings, greeting prospective customers and granting access to sales units
